For the past couple of years I have been part of a project entitled Lazarus from the Glasgow League of Writers (GLoW). It was the brainchild of GLoW founder Gordon Robertson who saw an entire back catalogue of DC Thomson characters just sitting there not being used, waiting on the side lines with many fans wanting to see them again.
One of my biggest inspirations is Douglas Adams. This story, with art by the fabulous Cuttlefish is a love letter to him. I see it as Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Doctor Who if they had a child.
We hope to bring you more from this soon
Last year saw myself and Graeme Kennedy release the first issue of iHero. This was a big deal for me and I am very proud to say that iHero issue 1 has sold incredibly well and continuing to do so. We have also received a ton of great reviews that I am really pleased about. I am happy to announce that issue 2 will be coming.
Last year mine and Tim Bird’s strip, The Terrible Truth About Mimes, appeared in the anthology Tales From A Lonely Planet produced by Clockwork Goat Comics. I was delighted to be apart of this project especially as all the money raised went to Cancer Research. This year I will once again be working with Clockwork Goat.
Last year was a fantastic year for me in the world of comics and I plan on making this year just as good if not bigger. The first project I have to tell you about is myself and the talented Tim Bird joining forces once again to provide you with The Bullpen. The Bullpen will appear in Avery Hill Publishing’s Reads Volume 2 Issue 1 and I am very excited to tell you that this story will continue on into the next issue of the book. This is the first time that I have been able to do a serial in this manner and I am very excited about it.
Here is a wee snippet of Tim’s art off of the first page:
